Miscellaneous Information
It is not at all clear why this serviceman would be on operations in Ghana. The airstrips in question were built in association with the Free French Air Force for receive fighter aircraft in kit form. It is possible that F/S Gordon had transferred from 427 Sqn or alternatively it could simply be a CWGC error (although the burial records do state that he was with 427 Sqn). The squadron numbers of his two fellow crew are not given in the burial record so these offer no clue. |
